Ideas for Handmade
Musical Cards for Music Lovers
Musical cards or musical themed cards are a fun way to celebrate someone's love for music.
Is there a special occasion coming up and do you want to make a custom handmade musical greeting card?
Here are some ideas you can use to make personalized Musical Cards:
You can create a homemade greeting card to resemble music players, such as an iPod or maybe a long horizontal card that resembles an old school cassette radio with two speakers at the each end.
Or what about a round card that represents a record? Or a rectangular card that you can shape as a cassette tape?
Musical Notes / Sheets:
Musical notes is another pattern that lends well to handmade cards – it’s also easy to find musical notes to print off the internet and musical notes on patterned paper at your craft store.
You can make a collage of musical notes as the background of your card message!
If your musical card recipient plays an instrument (or many instruments!), how about finding a picture of that instrument and making it the focal point of your handmade birthday card?
Or if your friend is a deejay or singer - you can use a picture of turntables or a studio microphone, both images would look pretty cool on the front of a card.
If you are making a birthday card for someone you are in a romantic relationship with, you could write "Let's Make Music" or "Let's Boogie Birthday Boy" - you get the idea!
Favorite Bands or Singers:
If your birthday gal or guy has a favorite band – why not dedicate a one-of-kind birthday card as a tribute to their favorite bands?
You can make a collage of band pictures found on-line or you can find album covers on-line and glue them onto the front of a greeting card in a grid pattern.
Favorite Song or Lyrics:
Lyrics can also be a way to incorporate favorite songs or bands into a homemade greeting card.
Find the lyrics to their favorite song and print them out in a pretty font and use that as a background for the card you want to create.
Mixed CD / Greeting Card:
How about making a special mix CD of songs that remind you of that person. You can find a blank CD at an office supply store and use the CD cover as the front of your card.
This could even be an annual tradition considering how music changes so quickly. Consider swapping custom-mixed CD's with your friend every time a special occasion, like Christmas or a birthday, rolls around.
